This is an amazing city, lots of new to go with the old. The people are wonderful, the hotels are mostly OK. The food is a great experience. Taxis are cheap..
Get out and walk the streets, go into the shops and markets, the people are looking for your business but they will always be willing to talk to you. Dont be afaid to check out the local restaurants. I found the museums are full of rich history. The night life is very good
Hotels are reasonably priced, Taxi's and buses are cheap. July is hot and humid, but most places are air conditioned (stores, malls restaurants etc. I am going back in December. I think it will be a better time to do more local travelling. Tours, hiking etc.

Sorry....I was talking About Gunagzhou. In December I went back to Guangzhou, there is just so much so see and do. This time I also went to Kunming on a tour, it covered the cities of Dali, Lijuang, Guilin and other stops. It was really enjoyable. One thing, Check out the bus, ours was not totally comfortable, I saw other tours with far nicer buses. The hotels were mid range, comfortable and basic and the food was local. That being said, this is why we travel, to experience as close as possible what this country has to offer. If you want super soft beds, hamburgers and hotdogs, stay at home. China''s lifestyle is different, its culture is rich,.....enjoy it....I did. Can''t wait till my next visit.
