A Special Barbecue on outskirts of LhasaThe best time to travel Tibet is from April to October. With the arrival of Spring, the ice and snow thaw gradually. The Sand storms are no longer a problem, and weather gets warmer. Day time temperatures average 20°C. The fine weather and beauty of wildness draw the Tibetan people outdoors. They celebrate spring with family members and friends at picnics and other activities at Linka. Linka means a place with trees, lawns and beautiful surroundings in the Tibetan language. There are a number of well-known linka in Lhasa where people go with their families at Linka festivals, holidays and weekends.
