Crisp air, blue sky, gorgeous autumn foliage set against snow capped peaks; this is Jiuzhaigou in fall, no doubt the best time to visit to this legendary natural paradise.
Jiuzhaigou in southwest China’s Sichuan province is a great introduction to China’s diverse and unbelievable landscape. It is an extravaganza of natural wonders, a pure unspoiled land which contains waterfalls, alpine lakes, tranquil grasslands, snowy mountains views and Tibetan villages...
Turpan - Harvest Fall
Golden grapes, yellow Hami melon and sweet smell of ripening fruit mark autumn in Turpan Depression, one of the fruit bowls of China in the far northwest of the country. This is the harvest season and the vineyards and the melons fields are a hive of activity.
Despite of the generally harsh weather condition dominating the area, the Turpan Depression is internationally known for its grape and Hami melons and of course the sun-dried raisin. Vineyards are scattered far and wide in the region. The famed Grape Valley in the northeast of Turpan city, some 10 kilometers from town is a forest of intertwined grape vines.
Fall in the Yellow Mountain
China is a world famous for its beautiful colors in fall and the Yellow Mountain is no exception. Yellow Mountain offers autumn visitors a unique canvas with waterfalls, sea of clouds, rocks and oddly-shaped pine trees set against the vibrant reds, oranges and golds. In late autumn, as the weather cools, parts of the mountains begin to develop occasional red splotches mixed with green. The northern section of the area changes faster than the southern side.
Harvesting Countryside
The golden paddies fields, the fragrant scent of fruit, crops wafting in the air are signs of fall in the countryside in Southern China.
Autumn is the best season for children in the poor mountainous area. Autumn means harvest time when they can pick wild fruits across the vast rugged mountains. Visitors who go to China’s countryside in fall can sometimes see a group of young boys picking up fruit in a courtyard. The older ones are trying to reach the ripe fruit hanging in the tree with a high bamboo pole. Those who are not strong enough or the young ones are in charge of collecting the fruit as it falls. Unlike children in cities or towns who are separated by high walls and big doors, kids in the countryside grew up together and share almost everything. Fall bears witness to their happy childhood.
